How do I show promotions/progression in the MBA applications?
Break out each role held from internship to current role on CV, with the quick job scope statements showing increase in reports, budgets, revenue etc. And achievement bullets showing the same for each role.
Some schools like HBS only give you one “company” entry so for those, this is particularly important. Other schools will allow info in each role. Mostly CV does the heavy lifting on this.
But you can also have recommenders speak to an anecdote where you had such a great result you got promoted. Or use part of the LOR optional question to highlight how quickly you have moved up vs the normal schedule.
Make sure everything you submit matches LinkedIn so it’s consistent.
Promotions are good but focus more on merit or impact than status, make sure the bullets are clear in WHY you have moved up. Focusing on rank, hierarchy or status - especially for US MBA programs - is a common mistake.
Having worked for many large MBA prep firms earlier in my career, I am proud to be a boutique provider who only handles 4-5 clients per round. I get to know my clients inside and out, which allows admissions to as well.
